Frequently asked questions

How are golden hour and blue hour defined?

Blue hour is when the sun is between 4° and 6° below the horizon. Golden hour runs from 4° below to 6° above the horizon. Times are calculated with the NOAA solar equations and don't account for mountains or buildings.

Does Golden Hour need my location?

Only to calculate times where you are. Your location is used on your iPhone and never sent to us. You can also pick a city instead.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Open the app, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account you subscribed with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Golden Hour and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
